Our boy turned two.
This felt like just yesterday:
But it wasn't. It was 729 yesterday's ago. We are so lucky to have been blessed with this little man.
Said little man was spoiled today. He should be--it's his birthday. While his mother was in a psych ward (observing, not a patient, mind you), Ethan went to a guys breakfast with his Daddy, his Papa (my dad), Uncle Brew (my brother) and a few other friends. They chowed down on giant pancakes! Like this giant, giant:
Look at just how excited my husband is. God Bless him. This is what happens when mom isn't around. Haha! That's the good stuff in life, though. Right there.
And then they went and did other guy stuff, like get guy haircuts. :)
I came home with a super duper treat for him. He hardly ever gets sweets, but I got him his very own York Peppermint Patty. He tried a small bite a few months ago and couldn't stop smiling for weeks. He was so excited! If the wrapper crinkles obnoxiously, he loves it before he even knows what it really is. Only the bad-for-you stuff has obnoxious loudness resonating from the wrapper. No?
Then, we continued a tradition that we started last year. We took him to Toys R' Us and let him pick out a few toys; whatever he wanted. We let him out of the cart and let him run free. You would think this child was caged. He ran like wild fire! Giggling and stopping at everything and anything to touch. He shoved his little fingers in every "Try Me" circle cut out on the clear boxes.
We pulled him from the store, wiggling and whining. He didn't want to be caged again like we always do, day in and day out leave.
Ethan chose pizza for dinner. We went to Al's Pizza and shared an enormous cheese pizza. Since it was his birthday, I let him stand in the booth with me while he ate. We even let him go at it with the parmesan cheese shaker. "Sure, you can sprinkle that all over the table, no problem!"
It was his birthday and yes, I let him be rotten and yes, we spoiled him. You should.
Hope you have a great weekend. We are looking forward to a fun-filled one with family and friends. Thanks for all of his birthday wishes today! :)
Happy Birthday sweet boy! We love you so very much!
