What have we been up to?

This is what we have been up to:
Chewing on plastic. Yes, that is a biohazard bag. No, it does not contain hazardous chemicals, waste, or materials. Simply a bag with gloves in it. Simmer down, Child and Family Services.

And this:
Watching Julia Child make miniature pear tarts. Ethan likes Julia. So do I.

Oh, and I thought you all out there should know. As much as I hate it and try to hide it E does, occasionally, get food on his clothing. I am only going to show you this once. You will never again see filth on my child. This is a big deal for me...to admit that I cannot keep E clean as a whistle 100% of the time. Incomprehensible, I know. Brace yourself as you scroll down:

On a side note, our little man took a few steps on his own! We now have the video camera sitting out all of the time now, like cool people, to capture his next steps. :)

Hope everyone is having a marvelous week!

Please help!

I need your help. I have not been able to eat or sleep because of something that is brewing in my measley brain.

I was opening a box of Publix Animal Crackers yesterday and I happened to look down at the box and this guy was staring back at me:

WHAT on God's green Earth is this?

I stood there frozen, trying to take it all in. This is what came to mind whilst frozen in place:

Possibly the freakiest creature known to man. The sloth. I really hope I have not been feeding E such creepiness.

OR, it could be this:

How is something so cute and hilarious so nightmare-ish at the same time?

OR, placing my neurotic tendancies aside, it could simply be this:

Now, he's cute.

Someone please put me out of my misery and tell me what you think this animal might be. What happened to elephants and horses in the Animal Cracker boxes? I suppose this is what I get for buying generic. Oh, Publix, why have you done this to society (or just this one psychotic woman)?

Special Agent: Kristina

So, I have had to do some investigative work. This is a very intense, exciting story, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.

E's ceiling fan would be turned on when I put him down for a nap and everytime I would go to get him after waking, the durned thing would be off. At first, I convinced myself that I must have just forgotten to turn it on. Yesterday, I was really cool and said out loud when I was leaving his room "OK, bud...your fan is indeed ON as I am walking out of here." I came in an hour or two later and it was off. So, my conclusions were as follows: 1) we have a ghost or 2) he was turning it off himself (the switch is within reach of his crib).

Moving forward.

This afternoon, I decided that I would put scotch tape over the switch so he wouldn't be able to turn it off and I could hear it crinkle if he were to touch it. Dun Dun Dun...I heard a crinkle and sure enough, that stinker was trying to turn it off.  I guess he likes waking up with sweaty hair.

On a completely different note...I heard today that red or yellow kitchens are mentally and visually appealing and make you salivate and then, in turn, increase your appetite. Which causes you to eat more. Which causes you to get fat. Awesome. Maybe I will paint my kitchen this weekend.

Adventures in Food Land--Part 2.

Wait until you hear the delicious meal E got his hands on today. Fish sticks and lima beans. Mmm! Ha.

Here is how it went:
"I don't know if I can indulge in such a delectable meal? I must take a moment and gather my thoughts."

"I suppose I will place my uncertainties aside and eat what you give me, Mother."

"Hmm...simple yet satisfying."

"I could get used to this."

I just realized that my child wears a lot of stripes. At least it isn't the same shirt as our previous post concerning food adventure.

Adventures in Food Land

Well, don't ask why, but I have been paranoid to give E new, adventurous, solid foods. Poor kid has been eating fruit, veggies and pieces of wheat bread and plain wheat pasta for weeks now. Haha! My friend Laura informed me that she has ventured into the world of fish sticks, mac n' cheese and jelly sandwiches! Her immense courage and sheer bravery inspired me to bite the bullet and give my poor kid some interesting foods.

I loaded E into the car and zipped up to Whole Foods. I figured if I was going to give him real people food, let's try and give him the best quality. I picked up some organic fish sticks, organic mac'n cheese (yes, that exists) and some organic oatmeal. Call me an organic annoying person, but I feel better feeding him that sort of stuff. So, in essense, we copied everything that was on Laura and Maggie's grocery list and piled it in our cart.

This is how it went:

Confusion.

Contemplation.

Courage.

Conquered.

Coolest invention ever...bottom line.

I just have to share the coolest thing on this planet that we inhabit.

Meet my new friend:

It is imperative that you listen to what I am saying. You MUST try this. It is so yummy. And let's talk about the fact that it uses organic products and wheat flour. Hello? That makes me happy. It's pancakes folks and, eaten in moderation, they are fine. Oh, I would love to eat about 63 1/2 of them, but for the sake of my waistline, I will pull back and only eat 44. Thank you for your support of my willpower.

I'm gonna need you to head over to the site and do your research: http://www.batterblaster.com/    :)

TRY IT! Do it now.

p.s. Isn't it cool that I only have one Follower? One day we will all look back and laugh at the days when I was so unpopular.

Why, hello!

Ah, yes. I have decided to start a blog. Why, you ask? Maybe due to the fact that I am obsessed with reading other peoples blogs and figured there may be some strange person out there who would be interested in reading about my life and then, in turn, may become obessed with my blog and turn this into a sick, vicious cycle. Is that bad? Probably.

Owell. :)  Moving on...

I figured I would occassionally write about what is going on with my fantastically awesome child or my sweet, teddy bear-of-a husband. I must say, we are a pretty cool little family. I also love cooking and baking, so I may throw in a recipe or two.

In all honesty I don't really have time for a blog, considering I work from home, have schoolwork that needs to be done and chase around our baby all day, clean, cook, etc. etc. Makes sense to commit to a blog, dosen't it? Not so much. :)

See you soon!
