WHERE have I been?

Caution: VERY boring talk of toilets, tornadoes, and makeup are ahead. I insist you move on if none of those things interest you. :)

Well, school took over and so did spring break from said school. Sorry for the absence!

My spring break, aside from hitting the beach once, was spent potty-training our little man. He was a champ and passed with flying colors by day 3! I trained him in underwear. A few people warned me not to...but I took the chance and it worked wonderfully. The very few accidents he had in the beginning were so small that I just hand-washed them in the sink right away and hung them to dry. Couldn't be happier. He has eaten more M&M's than I would have liked, but it worked. He got his "M" every time he went potty and he was one happy camper, as he very rarely gets chocolate or candy. I think he caught on very quickly to the "I successfully pee'd in the toilet" treat, though. He wanted to go every few minutes on the last day. Ha. He would tinkle a little and then hop off, wash his hands and run out all proud with his treat in hand(And they DO melt in your hand...not just in your mouth. Mmm hmm. False advertising, M&M people.) and then would want to return 10 minutes later and tinkle again. Stinker. Owell...whatever...I'm not gonna get all authoritarian on him and not allow it. He's consistently going and I am proud of him. He is now just wearing pull-ups at night and awesome Transformers underwear during the day :)

A few awesome tidbits during the baracading of myself in my home for those 3 days:

*I cooked some kick ass meals. I had some major time to cook and prepare during the whole day whilst waiting on egg shells for my child to scream "Potty, Mommy!!" from across the house.

*I did not wear makeup ONCE the entire week of spring break (makeup for me is simply eyeliner and mascara, but still). The last time I wore makeup was last Saturday to a wedding. 7 days ago. Since then? Nothing. And I love it. I knew I could shove my finger into the corner of my eye to get that itch and not have to worry about the God-awful eyeliner smear. Sweet.

*My living room looks like a category 5 tornado decided to land its butt dead center. No point in cleaning up after this kid if he is here 24/7 and is going to destroy the cleanliness promptly.

*Those were the only cool tidbits I could think of. My life is so enthralling now-a-days.

When I wasn't screaming "YAY!!" in the bathroom like a crazy person, I was reading for my test on Monday. This Labor and Delivery stuff rocks, but its scary as hell! I am so glad I didnt know what horrible things could happen when I had Ethan. You are either healthy and going to have a great, healthy delivery...or you are on the brink of death. Seriously. I don't know if I will be able to handle all of that. I wanted to go into L&D initially. But now? Kinda scared. We will see once clinicals start in a few weeks. Phew.

And since I wore you out with explaining about the exciting in's and out's that are my childs' toilet habits or explaining to you my irrational fears of holding the lives of two people at once in my hands and scared to death of all of the shit that can happen when having said baby, I'll leave you with a few funnies:

To further illustrate my happiness of no makeup.

To further illustrate my slovenliness. You know you've done it.

This has nothing to do with my spring break, I just laughed when I saw this. I do this sometimes. You know you do too.

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend and a marvelous week. Off to read about HELLP and DIC syndromes and all sorts of other encouraging pregnancy-related syndromes that scare the living daylights out of me.

Toodles!

Love,
K

Randomocity.

1. My new nephew still dosen't have a name. Jeeeeesh. If only my sister-in-law knew that her indecisiveness is the topic of my blog. Ha! She wouldn't read this in a million years.

2. I had a dream last night that I was running a porn site. Not in the explicit material, of course...but just running the site. AND when people signed up to be new members? They were shipped three sticks of string cheese. Yes, string cheese. The kind with white and yellow cheese swirled into one stick. Big time ballin' right here. No pun intended.

3. OB rocks. The end.

4. We booked a little Disney birthday getaway for Ofir's birthday coming up in April. So excited! We love Disney. Ethan hasn't been yet and I am SO looking forward to seeing him have a blast. Hopefully Mickey dosen't freak him out :)  We shall see!

5. Still digging my green smoothies! Ethan is too. Ofir is too. I feel so damn accomplished getting those greens in them! Haha!

6. I made turkey meatloaf the other night and it was TO.DIE.FOR.  And since I am on this "Let's hide vegetables in everything" kick...guess what I did with the meatloaf. Hid vegetables in it. Duh. I grated celery, carrots and onions into the mixture and then I had frozen spinach thawed out, so I drained that and threw that in there too. All of those veggies made it SO moist. Try it sometime.

7. Going for Mexican tonight. Gonna get some margaritas. Yes sir!

8. We will have SEVEN people in our house tonight and for the next several days. You heard me. Ofir's sister, mom and our niece and nephew are coming in to meet the new baby (said no-name baby in #1). This should be interesting...seven people in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house! :)  I am excited to see my niece and nephew though! They live in CA and have never met Ethan! They are 3 and 5 and I think they will all play wonderfully with one another! Phew! Company always gives me a good excuse to deep clean!

9. Off to clean.

10. Have a great day and an awesome weekend!

Happy Wednesday!

Hi all!

Most importantly, I became an aunt again yesterday! My sister-in-law had her second baby! She was blessed with a boy this time. I already have my sweet little Shiri, so I am looking forward to watching my new little man grow up too! I say "little man" because they haven't picked a name yet. Ahh! These Isreali family members of mine are the WORST at picking names out early. They pretty much pick a name when that birth certificate lady comes around before you leave the hospital and demands a name! Why must they make me suffer so? Silly gooses! Or is it geese? I can never figure that out. So, I'll tell you whenever I know this childs name! Ha! I am taking newborn pictures of him in a few days and I will certainly show you those too!! Can't wait for another snuggly baby!

A few people have asked about my flats from Monday's post. I got the chevron one's at Ross :) It was love at first sight! And when I saw that they were only $12...loved 'em even more! The other two pairs I got at Payless. They were $15 each.

I saw this yesterday and had to snag it:

I don't know about you, but I do this at least once a week. I laughed when I saw it and wondered if I was the only one who does this! Do you? There should also be one that says "I forgot about the load in the washer and it sat there for 2 days and got weird smelling so I poured more soap in and started it again. On HOT." :)

I am SO making this recipe soon:

BRIE, APPLE, AND ARUGULA QUESADILLAS
Mmmmmm! I love brie. I could probably eat brie on cardboard and still enjoy myself.
Since I have the day off of school, Boo and I are going to meet his Daddy for lunch today! Hopefully it won't be too hot to sit outside and enjoy the pretty, spring weather!

Speaking of his Daddy/my love...he was about to walk out the door for work this morning and he had sprayed a cologne that he had not worn in ages. Its my favorite one of his and the second I smelled it, it took me back to when we first started dating! :) I honestly love how smells can take you to places you miss and places that hold special memories in your heart. It did that for me this morning and made me smile. Real big. Love him even more today than I did 7 years ago when I got that first whiff of his deliciousness :)

That is all. Just wanted to say Hi and send my randomness of a blog post your way!

Have a marvelous Wednesday!

Love,
K

Invasion.

Of the flats, that is.

I have bought 3 pairs of flats in the last week. This is unheard of for me. I don't have a shoe fetish by any means, but I have been on a let's-grab-copious-amounts-of-flats kick lately. And it's fun. And I love them. Especially those over there on the left. I am totally digging the chevron pattern. And yes, those on the top right are gold glitter. Hell yes...I am rockin' the glitter. And loving it!

You see, when you are a beastly 5' 9" like me, you gotta dig the flats. And when ya got a husband who is a modest 5'11", you gotta dig the flats. I do not possess the Katie Holmes Syndrome--where I can tower over my husband and feel comfortable. Can't do it:
Is this even real?

No ma'am. Too much for me...so I'll stick to the non-heel type of shoe :)  Just wanted to show you my shoes that I am totally obsessing over. The End.

I had a shoot with a friend yesterday. Actually, she is a good friend of my best friend, so I call her my friend too...whether she likes it or not. I had a wonderful time. She rocked it. It did take her a few minutes to warm up, but man...when she did...SHE DID:

Those were a few I about died over. The End.

I said "The End" twice and really didn't mean it, as I continued to talk.

I started OB today. Looks like its going to be a pretty intense class, but I am looking forward to seeing new life come into this world and snuggle new babies!!

Have a marvelous week!

OK for real--The End.
