I was speaking to the vertical blinds that once lived in my kitchen:

"You are nothing, useless, no-good blinds. I wish you were never born! You were a mistake!"

Whoa whoa. "Simmer down" you say? OK, I will. Sorry. 

Yes, it is true. We have disposed of our awful blinds only to have replaced it with this beaut:

Am I the only one who thinks his arm looks twisted and down-right CREEPY? He has an excuse, though. He broke it whilst playing soccer many a fortnight ago (I love you, Pride and Prejudice.).

OK.  Ignore everything I just said. I was joking, people. I wasn't joking about my sheer disdain for the vertical blinds, but I was joking about the sheet that now encompasses my eating quarters. We are, in fact, putting up some nice white linen curtains instead. I can't wait until they go up. I just need to finish the darned painting before we do that.  All a part of my living room makeover! Why must I be so obsessed with instant gratification? I want it to be DONE. Now.  :)
